0 The 7 Golden Rules of Hustling

This is an good article i found on hustlersblog.com. Check it out

1. Money ain’t sh!t. Once you put this in your head, you’ll soon start to see your income skyrocket. Your mind can do some crazy ass sh!t. Have you ever lost something and tried so hard to look for it - but never succeeded? You only found it when you stopped putting so much emphasis on looking for it, right? Stop putting so much weight on money. Money aint sh!t.

2. Money as a Vehicle
Money gets you places. Your muscles can get you places. Money is a tool to build whatever you want to build, get you to wherever you want to get. A foot slipper can do the same thing. Just like a knife, you can either be constructive or destructive. Destruction: you slash your baby mama’s lungs out of her body and then slice off your eyelids. Constructive: You cut pieces of meat and veggies to feed your family so they can be strong and work for your ass while you eat, sleep, and sh!t for 23 hours a day. Think of the huge impact of what things can do. Money is more versatile a tool than many other tools out there - so make sure to utilize it like the ultimate tool, not the ultimate destructive tool (drugs).

3. Stop Flossin’
You can get money quick, you’re on the fast track. You’re banking $10,000 a day running legit businesses. You decided you deserve to floss it, telling everyone how much you make…you get jacked. Don’t be a target. The internet is the same damn story - e-thugs be doing drive by spamming. They do you in your ass too - giving you mad viruses. Stop acting like a baller, leave that to the fake rappers on MTV. Handle you, your gold digging girl, and your family. Your friends ain’t gotta know. And you’re a wanksta if you have to pay for respect and props. Money talks, but so does a gun in your mouth. The more modest you get - the more fun the game gets.

4. Learn how to read numbers
I learned how to read numbers at a very young age. Reading numbers is just like learning a new language, you see patterns, you see correlations, and you start formulating a picture and forecasting. Be your own Financial Miss Cleo and start loving how to read numbers. Again, learn how to read numbers. See trends. See how events effect numbers. See how small your penis is.

5. Fall 8 Times, Get up 9 Times
If you are scared of failing, close this thread and continue on to ****** . You ain’t gonna be rich homeboy.

6. Learn about the power of compounding
If Einstein said it’s one of the most ingenious concepts of all time - then your ass should listen and utilize it. Take your ass to Google.com and look up “The Power of Compounding”. Learn it, understand it, use it.

7. Look for Mentors
Kobe is a herb, but he can hoop like a no other. He did it by copying Jordan. Find mentors. There’s a lot of child molesters on the internet, but there are also good mentors. Look for a forum, and start developing relationships with these people who are nerds just like you. Save them on your buddy list and make sure to keep asking them questions and bothering them until they block your chancy ass.

Golden Rules of Hustling. Don’t let me catch you slacking on any of them.

0 Respect His Hustle..Asher Roth

Shout Out to the good folks at tycooning101 for this article on Asher Roth. If you are on the internet half as much as i am, chances are you have heard of Asher Roth. In less than a few months dude has the whole industry buzzing about him. How did he accomplish this? one word: BRANDING. In the article below, Tycooning101 examines the important role branding has played in Roth's success:

"If you haven’t heard of Asher Roth by now, you must be living under a rock. The Pennsylvania born lyricist has been generating a serious buzz as of late. With constant comparisons to Eminem, and his “Frat Boy” image. Asher has burst onto the music scene carving his own lane.

Asher hasn’t built this type of buzz strictly off of the fact that he’s “nice” on the mic. He has had a strong marketing team behind him to help build the “Asher Roth” Brand. A strong Myspace and Facebook prescence has help Asher reach thousands of new fans, but it has to be his ning based social-networking site thedailykush.com that has been the powerhouse behind this new artist’s growing success. His manager Scooter Braun and Moe Arora of Rockstar Branded can be thanked for that.

It is Scooter, Moe and the rest of the marketing team that are helping spearhead and accurately paint the image of who Asher truly is. Asher’s all American frat boy image is extremely bankable. It will open doors for a wealth of fans, touring and merchandising opportunities that i am not fully at liberty to speak on. However according to Arora, the possibilities are endless.

Aside from what is to come, Roth has hooked up with DJ Drama and DJ Don Cannon of the Aphilliates for his critically acclaimed mixtape “The Greenhouse Effect”. With a cosign from Drama on Rap City and positive reviews from the blog world, Asher is that person to watch for in 2008/2009. Keep an eye on him and watch how the brand expands".

Check out Asher Roth's music here:

he has a free Mixtape called "The Greenhouse Effect" Which can be downloaded below.

0 Dont Be A Bitchass nigga!!!!

-I recently noticed a lot of bitch ass tendencies occurring: people trying to hop on bandwagons cause they see somebody close to success when last week they wouldn't give two squirts of piss about you or your situation, niggas dodging people over $80 etc. I also find it funny that two weeks ago it seemed like it was a fuck T.I campaign going on, now dude drops two singles and suddenly he's hot again. Same thing with Rick Ross a month ago he had the #1 album in the country and everyone was the biggest (insert random adjective here) that you seen thus far and now people are going out of there way to disprove his credibility. Anyways I felt I should post a few videos up to help you recognize bitchassness around the world.

1 Dime Of The week..... Erica Mena

I heard about this girl a hot minute ago when she did vh1's video vixen special. She is a actress and hip-hop video model, and she also used to date producer Scott Storch. I recently saw her on Kanye's blog and thought she would make a great candidate for dime of the week.

0 Sakiya's Thought's "Time Tested"

One thing that will always be true about time is that it waits for no man. It’s the only thing that we all have the same amount of everyday. The only difference is what we individually choose to do with it. Those who achieve any type of success always know the true value of their time.

So remember this little thought nugget my fellow thinkers…the longest job to finish is the job never started!

0 Guess Whos Bizzack?

My bad y'all i know i haven't updated blog in a minute and it seems like i have been slacking but its actually quite the contrary. I have been networking and trying to help my man Young Scolla (pause) wrap up his mix tape: "Sign Of Greatness: The Tale Of Barack Scobama". Its actually getting down to the wire on that so im not sure whether or not ill have any beats on the mix tape but i definitely will have some on the album. I also went to the Detroit reunion concert (headlined by D12 and Royce Da 5'9) at St Andrews like last week and got to chill backstage and even onstage for a couple of sets. I have some pics and video ill probably be posting up soon.

0 Think about it....Questions For Hip-Hop

Occasionally, when i am confused about why something is the way it is or feel the need to vent about something i will post a few questions and let you do the math.

Today's Think about it focuses on "Hip-Hop"

1. How come fans will pay a up to $200 to see an artist perform but wont pay $10-$15 dollars for the artists album?

2. Why are Hip Hop consumers more concerned with album sales than how good an album actually is?

3. Why is it that artists have to pay Dj's to play HIT RECORDS? (Case in point: Shawty Lo's "Dey Know"

4. How come when a rapper says something it is considered vulgar but those same words can be said through a non Hip-Hop format and be considered okay? (case in point: Lil Wayne's "A Milli" they censor "coppers', "venereal disease" etc.)

5. Why do labels allow artists to drop albums after ONE hit song? When was the last time as a consumer you decided to buy a new artists album after hearing ONE song? That's like only seeing ONE room and deciding to purchase a whole house!!! Could this be contributing to low album sales? Hmmmmmm.....Just my Thoughts

0 Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson...Repect His Hustle!!

Okay so, every now and then I will post musicians and or those i feel have been hustling hard in my "Respect My Hustle" section. This is a good article about 50's business hustle. He is also scheduled to have a park in Queens New York, renamed after him.

"Whether or not you like Curtis Jackson, you can’t deny the fact that the man’s hustle is ridiculous. Between the advance money he used to start his own record label, the deal he drafted with Ecko for the G-Unit brand, the lucrative vitamin water investment and the movie roles he’s picking up—this is a man who is handling his celebrity, marketability and business life with balls so big they scrape the surface of the Earth.

Though 50 has caught heat from political leaders so frustrated with their inability to change things that they blame him for everything, he is a man that’s providing a positive image for the youth of America to follow. 50 Cent makes it okay for kids to stop cooking and selling meth, and step their business game up. But don’t fall for the hype, it’s not just the troubled youth and their drug-infested neighborhoods that have something to learn from 50, it’s every one interested in joining a new phenomenon known as the Creative Class. Look it up on Wikipedia.

So 50 has millions and millions and is probably worth more. Between his business ventures and income potential in the next few years, there’s no telling how hard he would have to try to spend all of his money in a lifetime. What Mr. Cent is doing, and unfortunately not being praised for, is his investment in real estate.

There’s no information out there on what kind of land 2 Quarters possesses, but any one with a lot of dollars—or enough dollars to qualify for a loan and enough income to keep it paid off for a few years—should know that now is the time to get into real estate, especially in California, because prices are low and bottoming out, which means they’ll start going up and multiplying the investment.

50 probably knows that, so do you. But what’s even doper about this dude is what he just did in Queens. He reportedly donated a large sum of money to the Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project, in order to restore Baisley Park, where it is said he and others may or may not have partaken in certain illegal activities that we wouldn’t want our kids getting into. This is on another level though. Baisley Park was in Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff’s hood. For those who don’t know, Supreme is allegedly responsible for the shooting that left 50 almost dead, and now, ridiculously rich.

As a result of the donation, the park will be renamed Curtis Jackson Park.

Wow. Success is the best revenge. And he wins while being nice".

0 You aint stuntin unless you got this!!

Saleen Aquada is a land and water transportation which is capable of reaching 40 mph. Aquada is intended to work as sports car on road and speedboat on water

Simply press a button and drive into the water. The wheels automatically rise and as you press the accelerator nearly a tonne of thrust pushes the Aquada onto the plane. The whole process takes less than 12 seconds. The Aquada can plane at over 30mph.”

Saleen will be working on design and engineering work required to bring the Gibbs Aquada and Quadski to the North American market. Gibbs is going to introduce the models in later 2009 or early 2010.

0 Compression For Dummies

Good article for those looking to know more about sound compression. click the link for the full article.

"Of course, just because you don’t understand compression doesn’t mean that you’re mentally challenged. As a rule, the compressor, and how it controls a signal’s dynamics, is one of the more challenging processors to grasp. Learning how to effectively apply compression in your mix can take a significant amount of study time, patience, and good old fashioned experience.
Now, I could explain what each parameter of a compressor does and how it affects the signal. I could even give you some compression presets to get you started. But, this approach would be old hat and does nothing to help you actively hear compression and how each of its components work. You see, without the ability to hear in your mind how compression colors a signal, and to then know which parameters on a compressor to reach for in order to achieve your sound, you’re just fumbling blindly".

0 Sakiya's Thoughts....

SUCCESS HAS A PRICE!!!

Whatever you want in life, you must give up something to get it. The greater the value, the greater the sacrifice required. There's a price to pay if you want to make things better, and a price you'll pay for just leaving things as they are. Nothing worthwhile comes easily. Work, continuous work and hard work, is the only way to accomplish results that last. Don't let the fear of change stop you. There is no success at bargain basement prices. Your highway to success is a toll road.

0 How to clear a sample

A lot of independent artists and producers sample other works in their music. However to avoid legal trouble...You have to get permission or "Sample Clearance". For producers, if you ever place a track which contains a sample sometimes the label may expect YOU to clear it. Below is a good article which talks about the process of sample clearance.

1 Just 4 Kicks....Air Yeezy's

I must admit to be the shoes of a rapper, the Air Yeezy's are cold!! If they weren't Kanye's shoes i would still rock em!!!

As you can see Kanye actually had a hand in the in the creative process...

Here you can see where Nike most likely drew inspiration for the Air Yeezy's from.

While Nike has yet to release these boys here are some random pics of Air Yeezy sightings to hold you over until they do.....
