0 Maybach Music "Self Made Vol. 2" Listening Session Recap

Flying With Da Fishes's own Reggie E. was in attendance last night at MMG's listening session and did thorough recap of the nights festivities. Check It out below:

By now, I'm sure we've all heard about the brawl that took place between Chris Brown and Drake's entourage at around 5am this morning. Unfortunately, the drama overshadowed what was an even bigger moment just hours before hand. The MMG listening event for Self Made Vol. 2  went down yesterday at one of the most hailed strip clubs in town, Sin City. Outside you immediately felt the presence of superstars as the street was perfectly aligned with Maybachs and other luxurious cars up and down the block....

Everyone from Drizzy, Busta, DJ Khaled and of course the entire MMG crew including newest signee Omarion or Maybach O as they call him was in the building, and came equipped with singles, as they should have.

Being as star studded as it may have been, I was there for one reason; The music. Coming off the hills of Self Made Vol. 1 which faired pretty well in its own right with singles like the summer smash "Ima Boss" and "Tupac Back", it is no surprise that Vol. 2 picked up where it's Prequel left things off. Here are some tracks that stood out:

Power Circle: First track off the album, and kicks things off in the right way, which has become Rozay's signature. After Ross' first verse, Meek picks up then Stalley and Wale closes things out with verse 4. Just when you think the track is wrapping up though comes Meek with another verse and Kendrick Lamar with a killing finisher!

Black Magic: Serving as track number two, Black Magic switches things up a bit with another shining spot from Meek Mill.

This Thing Of Ours: Track three, which pairs Rozay with Wale and Omarion, who makes his first appearance on the album here. Another mellow track from the Bawse.

Actin' up:  Served as track 5, and One of my personal favorites, it got the strippers moving a lot more too. Great club feel and highly appropriate for the setting.

Other tracks that stood out included Fountain Of Youth, I Be Puttin' On, which features Wiz, and Black On Black which was also one of Khaled's personal favorites. Look for an official review of Self Made Vol. 2 when the album comes out June 26. For now, check out this video recap of the night's festivities put together by Rap Radar. Enjoy!
