In Case you missed the quote:
“Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it’s not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won’t. it’s whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere.”

ON CRITICISM OF “D.O.A.”
“I’m not hating on young people. Like, when people say that, I’m like, What are you talking about? It’s just stupid. I’m not hating on young people… I’m not Bill Russell, [saying] Michael Jordan ain’t shit. I’m saying Lil Wayne and Kanye are like LeBron and Kobe. My job as someone at the forefront of the game is to leave it in a better position than when I came in. Same way that Russell [Simmons] left it to me. ’Cause this thing saved my life. Literally. So I have a responsibility to it karmically. And after that it’s on you. I did my part. I made ‘D.O.A.’ I said it. I made the statement. I made the push. Here, y’all take it from here.”ON HIS LEGACY AS FORMER DEF JAM RECORDS PRESIDENT
“So if you ask me to grade my performance as the president, I’d say A-plus. No one can bat a 100. It’s impossible. I mean, everyone is looking at my shit. But if we really looked under the hood [of] every single [record exec] and the acts they put out in that time, I’d be comparable to anyone.”ON HIS STANDING IN THE GAME
“But when I say I’m the best, I don’t say that outta my ass. I say that with all my stats behind me. I put that against anybody. I mean anybody. I really believe that… I believe in a lot of things. I believe that ‘SportsCenter’ is the best thing on TV. I shouldn’t have to prove it. But I do have these stats to prove it. I’m talking about real run. I’m not talking about years off. I’m talking about straight—boom, boom, boom—back to back. We’re not talking about heritage acts either. We’re not talking about respect what I’ve done. I’m talking No. 1 [albums] 10 times. The Beatles is the only one [to have more No. 1 albums]. They got 19, and if I get a surge of creativity, I could make nine albums next year.”

0 Drake x Eminem x Lil Wayne x Kanye West Collabo Coming This Friday
Story Via Karen Civil:
"At this point in his career, there isn’t much Lil’ Wayne hasn’t seen or accomplished. Well, except for one thing, record a song with Eminem. By all accounts, that streak may soon be over. Their first collaboration, entitled “Forever”, will be on the soundtrack to the highly anticipated documentary,”More Than A Game”[Lebron James' High School Team Documentary. Aside from Wayne and Em, the Boi-1da produced record will also feature two of today’s most talked about artists, Kanye West and Drake.
While Friday has been the speculated date for its release, the record will indeed surface sometime this week. One thing that is set in stone, however, is the quality.
“The record was mastered this past weekend and honestly it sounds better than ever,” said Young Money President Mack Maine".
I'm glad Wayne and Eminem are finally gonna be on a track together, so everybody can finally see that Lil Wayne is kold, but he's not messing with Eminem, lyrically.

0 Drake Explains Reasoning Behind "So Far Gone" Re- Release
As you may already know, Drake is planning to re-release his now classic mixtape, "So Far Gone" to retail. (Click Here For More Info) However, many fans were left scratching their heads after a leak of the album revealed that the retail version would only contain 7 tracks, 2 of which being "Im Goin In" Ft Lil Wayne and "Fear" a previously unreleased track, neither of which appeared on the original "So Far Gone". In the midst of all the confusion, Drake took to his blog to explain why he felt "So Far Gone" needed to be re-released:
"People often ask me the craziest part about becoming "famous" and I've never had an answer until yesterday.
"You'll spend half of your time defending yourself and the other half trying to stay sane resulting in you being forced to find time to be creative"
I often wonder in a time where new artists exist in a impersonal cyber world of instantaneous information, if we will ever have another rap legend that can manage to maintain the image that our idols had prior to this method of promotion. I am not suggesting that this person should be me, I am just urging a generation to understand that in order to have anyone of any significance in our lives that we can look up to there will be things that we must look past. There are people that buy sell and trade evil on a daily basis...when u believe in their brand is when they win" - Drake

0 Round 2: Drake Vs. Motown
Via XXL Mag:
According to Billboard, Motown reps have requested that Drake’s chart entries be credited to Motown, not Universal Republic. As XXLMag.com previously reported, Drake told Fader magazine, “I went through Universal Republic because I don’t fuck with Motown, at all.”
There are conflicting reports from Drake’s and Motown’s camp. A source close to the Toronto rapper says Drake is indeed signed to Republic, while Motown is distributing the album. The source adds that president Sylvia Rhone seeks to take “credit for anything involving Drake.”
On the other end, Universal’s source tells Billboard that Drake’s deal with Republic was never finalized, and alerting the media was premature. While the source says the move to Motown was last minute, he or she does not know what prompted the switch but suggested Motown may have first choice on Young Money and Cash Money artists despite artist preference, for contractual reasons.
*****Hmmmm with all this confusion I expect a blog post from Drake any day now to clear things up.......

0 Drake Doesn''t Mess With Motown...
Story Via XXL:
Drake has spoken out about his personal beef with Sylvia Rhone the president of Motown Records and the executive vice president of Universal Records – the parent label to mentor Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint - on record before. On “Say What’s Real,” a track from his critically-acclaimed mixtape So Far Gone he spit: “I’ve always been something that these labels can’t buy/especially if they trying to take a piece of my soul/and Sylvia be telling Tez/Damn, Drake fly/and he just be like, ’silly motherfucka I know‘”
Now some light has been shed on their relationship. According to the article, during Drake’s bidding war, Rhone threatened the rapper with legal action if he went elsewhere.
At the end Drizzy says the Young Money logo will appear on his CD but he explains he is doing so out of respect not because of contractual obligations. ”I respect the fact that Wayne put me in this position,” he said. “But as an artist I have to do my own thing at this point. I’m not sure if that’s gonna be a struggle in the next couple of month, to set myself apart. I don’t want it to feel like a disrespectful thing, but I know it’s a bridge that I’m going to cross as far as becoming my own person.”
