Los Angeles Leakers just leaked this joint off of B.O.B's upcoming mixtape: "May 25th" dropping February 1st.
Thanks a lot, music thieves and Internet hackers — or at least the ones who have been pillaging through Lupe Fiasco's new joints. Because of you guys, the MC said he's not putting out the sequel to his Enemy of the State: A Love Story mixtape anytime soon.
"I was plotting on doing the follow-up to that," Lupe said. "Simply because [Enemy of the State] was short. And I felt like it was space to do another one. I was gonna do another one called Friend to the People, but I started to get wind that people had songs they shouldn't have had. I was like, 'This is just gonna open the floodgates if I come out with another record. I know these dudes are threatening to leak records and do crazy stuff.' Sometimes I feel there may be too much Lupe music out there — whether it be old stuff or new stuff or freestyles. I don't want to have a ton of music sitting out. I made the decision to fall back from it and really focus on the climb. We were a couple of weeks away from doing that."
Eminem, Lil Wayne, Drake and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker will come together for a “special performance” on this Sunday’s Grammy Awards, the official Grammy Twitter revealed this morning. Based on the talent involved, it’s safe to assume the rappers will perform a rocked-up rendition of their hit “Forever,” which was overlooked in for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. However, the fourth rapper featured on that track, Kanye West, was not added as a performer, even though
West is a nominee on three of the five songs that are up for the Best Rap
Collaboration Grammy. Perhaps producers feared another “incident.” As it stands
now, the performance will also likely be Lil Wayne’s last major television
appearance before he heads off to prison in February. ****
"I remember getting an e-mail about a Cool Kids and Bun B show happening on 12/15/09. I immediately thought of trying to get Bun in the studio for a Closed Session, and knew that GLC would be the perfect Chicago artist for Bun to work with. GL reached out to Bun and a mere few hours before the show I got a call that Bun was down and would be at the studio at 7. Their show (which also featured GLC) started at 9, so we had an incredibly short amount of time to make this work, and that's if everything started promptly. Now, we're dealing with musicians and nothing ever starts on time for musicians--this session was no exception.... You'll get the full story of how this track went down with the full Closed Session video coming soon... For now just know that with a few strings pulled, a clutch beat from The Weathermen, and a little bit of luck, everything came together and we're able to present "Happiness Over Riches" featuring Bun B and GLC (prod by The Weathermen)."

It looks like the actions of Kanye West in the past and his constant issue with
checking his ego at the door hasn't paid off for the rapper even now.
In an attempt to bring as many supporters as possible to aid in the relief of
Haiti, there have been countless telethons being conducted to raise awareness
and donations for the country after the devastation that it's suffered.
Actor George Clooney is doing his part with his own telethon, but
reports are saying that he won't allow West to participate in the fundraiser
which will be broadcasted tomorrow.
Sources have added that they are going out of their way to ensure that West doesn't make an unwanted appearance, courtesy gawker.com.
“After what he said on the Katrina telethon and the way he behaved at the MTV Video Music Awards, everyone agrees it's just best that he does not participate,” said a producer.
Where some blame it on his passion, others look at it as a little kid trying to just get
everyone's attention while embarrassing others in the process.
“Kanye has to make everything about himself. He will do anything
to steal the spotlight, and, well, this night it's just not about him.”

Method Man shares a story of being maced, running from cops, and why Redman is his "G" with247hh.comThere’s been a lot of talk about Jay’s video containing Freemason imagery such as the horned animal head, an eagle and skull. What are your thoughts about such talk and why do you think music fans are so quick to believe a conspiracy narrative?
I’m aware of the stir the video has caused and what people are saying. I think when you’re dealing in abstract imagery people are going to want to draw lines between things and make sense of it. However, I’ve always felt that the viewing public was, in general, extremely visually literate. They don’t always want or need things to be spelt out for them. One of the great things about music videos are they can be enjoyed purely visually—it doesn’t need to mean anything or make any sense. Conspiracy theory is another thing entirely, and seems to me to be about projecting pre-existing beliefs and desperately looking for things that confirm them. There is imagery in this video that is drawn from all over the place. None of it is owned by any one culture or belief system. You can connect anything if you try hard enough, and make it mean anything you want it to.

This was supposed to be the third (and his final) verse on the song, which
is preceded by the phone call from his father and followed by the Lil Wayne

Here is part 2 of my sit down with Big Sean. He speaks about how he established his audience as well as G.O.O.D Music President, No I.D. working on his debut album. Look out for Sean, dude has a dedicated fanbase and I think he has the potential to make some serious moves this year.
"Playground is one of my favorites, me and Cole recorded that during the early stages of "The Warm Up" but it didn't fit in with the final track listing. It's a great song though, and I'm happy to finally let you all hear it!" -Elite
I got to speak with Big Sean about his fellow Detroit artist, Mike Posner and how their musical relationship began. Sean talks about their first meeting at a radio station and how Mike used to be a rapper. I’ll post part two where Sean and I talk about his progress thusfar and details on his upcoming album.
