0 Director Of "On To The Next One" Speaks on Video's Controversial Imagery + Jay-Z Addresses Illuminati Claims

The Jay-Z/Illuminati theories aren't anything new. In fact, it seems ever since HOV got his money right and started throwing the diamond up, conspiracy theorists have speculated about his possible involvement in a secret society. On new years day 2010, however, rumors of Jay-Z's Illuminati involement soared to new heights after the release of his video for "On To The Next One" Ft Swizz Beatz. Within hours of the videos release, conspiracy theorists began running wild citing the videos abstract imagery as "the smoking gun", proving Jay-Z's ties to Freemasons, Illuminati, Secret Societies etc. Sam Brown, the videos director recently spoke with Vibe to clear the air:
There’s been a lot of talk about Jay’s video containing Freemason imagery such as the horned animal head, an eagle and skull. What are your thoughts about such talk and why do you think music fans are so quick to believe a conspiracy narrative?
I’m aware of the stir the video has caused and what people are saying. I think when you’re dealing in abstract imagery people are going to want to draw lines between things and make sense of it. However, I’ve always felt that the viewing public was, in general, extremely visually literate. They don’t always want or need things to be spelt out for them. One of the great things about music videos are they can be enjoyed purely visually—it doesn’t need to mean anything or make any sense. Conspiracy theory is another thing entirely, and seems to me to be about projecting pre-existing beliefs and desperately looking for things that confirm them. There is imagery in this video that is drawn from all over the place. None of it is owned by any one culture or belief system. You can connect anything if you try hard enough, and make it mean anything you want it to.
In addition, Jay-Z himself denied any connections to any secret societies and even discussed his views on religion during a pair of interviews with Ed Lover and Angie Martinez, which can be heard below.
(On Angie Martinez Fast Forward To about 2 minutes)
(On Ed Lover fast Forward to 4:00)
So there you have is folks.... "Jay-Z Conspiracy Theories" #WeoffThat

0 Nigo To Fall Back As President Of Bape??

Via WWD:
"Nigo, the Japanese fashion designer who has gathered a cult following for his A Bathing Ape streetwear brand, is stepping down as president and director of the brand he founded in 1993. Nigo said in an e-mail he will remain the majority owner of Nowhere Co. Ltd., A Bathing Ape’s parent company. He will also continue as the designer of A Bathing Ape (aka Bape) as well as his partnership with singer-producer Pharrell Williams in the Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream brands, where he is co-owner and head designer. “I intend to explore the possibilities of taking on new projects on a freelance basis,” he said. Nigo said he has decided to give up his management duties at the firm in order to concentrate more on the creative side, which was the reason he started the company. A spokeswoman said the firm’s executives are currently deciding whether to hire a new president. Nigo, whose real name is Tomoaki Nagao, is known worldwide as a Japanese music producer, DJ and founder of Bape, which he launched 16 years ago Wednesday. To create buzz around his new brand in 1993, Nigo produced between 30 and 50 T-shirts a week and split them between his celebrity friends, including Williams and Kanye West, while only putting a limited number for sale. Today, A Bathing Ape, which Nigo named after the 1968 film “Planet of the Apes,” is said to generate well over $70 million annually in retail sales. There are 24 Bape stores worldwide, most of which are in Japan, with one store in New York and one in Los Angeles. The brand now extends beyond clothing to a Bape CafĂ©, Bape Cuts hair salon, Bape Kids and even a music division, Bape Sounds."

Singer Chris Brown has turned himself into police after an alleged assault of a female victim.

0 Jay-Z "Blueprinting" Another Takover?

As posted on AllHIPHOP
"ANOTHER JAY-Z “TAKEOVER” COMING?
I have a friend of a friend of a friend that works with Ludacris and they hippped me to something that might go down this weekend. There is a concert coming out over the weekend in New York at Nassau Coliseum that features T.I., Jeezy, Jim Jones and Nina Sky. Well, I am hearing T.I. is going to have an incredible set, but Ludacris is going to get all the attention. I am hearing Luda is bringing out Nas, Jadakiss, and Jay-Z. The strange thing is that Jim Jones is on the stage the set prior to Luda. Both nas and Jay have an ongoing tiff with J.J. Now, with this whole fight thing at the Louie store in NYC, I am hearing something is about to brew. I heard Jay is going to “address some things” at the concert and needs like five minutes".
I don't know if there is any truth to this, but I did see something on SOHH.com which suggested that Jim Jones and Ty-Ty's brother may have had issues at a recent event. Now if you don't know Ty-Ty is Jay's right hand man so this might get interesting.

“All that shit coming out,” he told HipHopDX. “Everything that I done rapped on, everybody gonna hear it. You can quote me on that. Everything that I done rapped on, I don’t care who did the beat…Everything that my voice on that I’ve done over these years with them, everybody gonna hear it.
