0 Happy Birthday Tupac Shakur (June 16, 1971 - September 13, 1996)

Happy Birthday to the late rapper Tupac Shakur. If he was alive today, he would've been 41 years old & I'm not sure how the rap game would be like if both him & Notorious B.I.G. still around to give Jay-Z, Kanye West, & all hip hop artists some competition. So that being said, here is one of my favorite Pac songs & video, "California Love," featuring Dr. Dre.

Last night, Dr. Dre gave arguably gave one of the best performances in Coachella history. Aside from guest appearances from Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar and Wiz Khalifa, In the video above Dre shows off some amazingly real technology with a performance from the late Tupac via hologram.

I think the point of that when I said it was, yes, a part of it had died. It was all about trying to reenergize everyone, myself included, to take it more serious. No matter how global it was starting to become and how much money is being made, I knew that statement right there would make everyone think about hip-hop again and question how much about hip-hop do they really know. Do they know The Fat Boys? Do they know Curtis Blow? If not, why not? What does it mean for someone that’s young to go back and look up those people like I would look at the ones before me? I think hip-hop is getting some age on it. It’s no longer a ten year old thing. It’s been around since 1979 and been going on for decades now. It looks like it’s going to keep growing. I’d say right now it’s thriving. It’s thriving with a lot of potential. I’m optimistic about the future. - Nas

0 Man Confesses To 1994 Robbery/Shooting of Tupac Shakur On Orders From Jimmy Henchmen

On the eve before what would have been Tupac Shakur's 40th birthday, a man named Dexter Issac released a statement to AllHipHop confessing to the 1994 robbery and shooting of Tupac Shakur at Quad Studios. Issac (who is currently serving a life sentence on other robbery and murder charges) claims to have been hired by James Rosemond AKA "Jimmy Henchmen". Below is a couple excerpts from the letter:

“In 1994, James Rosemond hired me to rob [Tupac] Shakur at the Quad Studio... He gave me $2,500 plus all the jewelry I took, except for one ring which he wanted for himself....Now I'm not going to talk about my friend Biggie's death or 2Pac's death, but I would like to give their mother's some closure. It's about time that someone did, and I will do so at a different time. Jimmy, you and Puffy come off all innocent-like, but as the saying goes: You can fool some people some of the time, but you can't fool all the people all of the time" -
