0 Jay-Z "Blueprinting" Another Takover?
As posted on AllHIPHOP
"ANOTHER JAY-Z “TAKEOVER” COMING?
I have a friend of a friend of a friend that works with Ludacris and they hippped me to something that might go down this weekend. There is a concert coming out over the weekend in New York at Nassau Coliseum that features T.I., Jeezy, Jim Jones and Nina Sky. Well, I am hearing T.I. is going to have an incredible set, but Ludacris is going to get all the attention. I am hearing Luda is bringing out Nas, Jadakiss, and Jay-Z. The strange thing is that Jim Jones is on the stage the set prior to Luda. Both nas and Jay have an ongoing tiff with J.J. Now, with this whole fight thing at the Louie store in NYC, I am hearing something is about to brew. I heard Jay is going to “address some things” at the concert and needs like five minutes".
I don't know if there is any truth to this, but I did see something on SOHH.com which suggested that Jim Jones and Ty-Ty's brother may have had issues at a recent event. Now if you don't know Ty-Ty is Jay's right hand man so this might get interesting.

0 Philant Johnson's Killer Sentenced To 66 Years In Jail
As Posted On XXLMag.Com
"Earlier this morning Hosea Thomas - the man who was found guilty last month of murdering T.I.’s close friend and personal assistant Philant Johnson - was sentenced to 66 years behind bars.
According to the Associated Press, Thomas, who was also found guilty of felonious assault and illegal possession of a firearm after a felony conviction, will not be up for parole until 2074.
T.I., who was with Johnson at the time of his death, took the stand during the trial detailing the night of the shooting.
Despite Tip’s testimony, Thomas’ brother Pardon turned out to be the prosecution’s star witness, as he testified against Hosea.
Johnson was murdered in a shootout after a club altercation spilled onto a Cincinnati highway. T.I. and his entourage were in town for a concert".

0 Soulja Boy Remembers 2008 With Rhapsody
Proudest achievement
My album going platinum. When I first came out, a lot of people wrote me off, saying I was going to be a one hit wonder and saying I was going to be this and I was going to be that. After my album went platinum, it was just a stepping stone to having a long career. Most artists they say are going to be one-hit wonders don’t have platinum albums.
Most expensive purchase
I got a $200,000 Soulja Boy logo chain. It has blue and yellow canary diamonds in it. Shout out to my jeweler King Johnny down in Houston, Texas. It’s my logo. I got it with me right now. I rock it all the time.
One cutback due to the recession
We didn’t cut back on nothing.
Biggest disappointment
50 Cent pushing his album back to ’09. I’ve been looking forward to it. He was dropping a week before my album dropped and I wanted to hear it and see what numbers he was going to put up. “Get Up” was a nice balanced track to come back with. I wanted to see what he was going to drop after that.

0 XXL Magazine Ranks Swizz Beatz's Top Ten Beats
*”All For The Love,” The Lox, Money, Power Respect (1998): This is Swizzie’s first placement if I’m not mistaken. To me it sounds like a skeleton of what his sound was to become over the next few years- meshing melodic and hard elements into one cohesive piece. I don’t think I knew Kiss was that nice until this track.
*”Ruff Ryders Anthem,” DMX, It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot, (1998): “All For The Love” was one of his first beats, but “Ruff Ryders Anthem” was his first hit- possibly what got his phone ringing off the hook
*”Banned From TV,” Noreaga ft. Jadakiss, Styles, Nature, Cam’Ron & Big Pun, N.O.R.E (1998): I clearly remember my boy Edcredible saying; “This nigga Swizz made a beat that sounds like the creation of the earth” in amazement. This is also the first time I recall hearing the scratches he made his trademark for a bit.
*”Money Cash Hoes,” Jay-Z ft. DMX, Hard Knock Life (1998): The track was just so left at the time, I’m not sure listeners would have accepted it without the game’s two illest MCs hopping on it at the time.
*”Jigga My Nigga,”Ruff Ryders, Ride Or Die Vol.1(1999): Swizz’s production once again bringing out the best out of a superior MC. Hov and Swizzie’s production was so crazy at the time, a full-length could have been deadly.

0 Rhapsody Q&A With Drumma Boy
In this interview, Drumma Boy discusses working with T.I.,his feelings on auto-tune,the success of "Put On" and memories of late Def Jam Executive Vice President Shakir Stewart.
Despite DJ Toomp reuniting with T.I., it seemed like the songs you produced like “What Up, What’s Haapnin’” and “Ready For Whatever” really shaped the album. Did that surprise you?
It’s a blessing. Toomp reached out to me personally. He was executive producing the album. A lot of these dudes that are doing business with me, there’s no negativity, drama or animosity. These are my peers and homies. Toomp has produced T.I. since day one. It’s not hurting Toomp in any way or form or fashion to say, “Look you hot right now. I need some help with this T.I.” Toomp working on Jay-Z and on bigger and better things. I stepped up to the plate.
Did you work with T.I. at his house?
I’m cool with his assistant and she was like, “He’s going to be on house arrest so if you want, we have a visitation list.” I gave my information. I was the first producer to work with T.I.P. “Ready For Whatever” was the first track we ever cut. And he explaining to you on that song why he was doing what he was doing and the situation. I went to the crib with like 30 beats and he picked out like 27. He was like, “You know you’re the dude right now. I’m hearing your name everywhere. Glad to have you in the house.” Then he showed me around the mansion. He was in great, great spirits. We as men go through a lot of trials and tribulations, but we got to keep our head up, and at the end of the day, if you collapse, we all collapse. So, somewhere one of us has to stay strong. One strong, all strong.
What was the illest part of his crib?
The paintings. He had $100,000 paintings or it might be worth like $350,000. T.I.P is a smart dude. He knows how to invest and put his money where it’s going to be profitable and beneficial. I met [T.I.’s manager Jason] Geter at 17. And I’m 25, now. It took me damn near eight years to make a T.I. placement. I was here when I’m Serious, Urban Legend, etc [dropped]. All these albums, I’m in this n*gg*’s face with CDs. To finally do business and then for “Whatever” to be the first track for him to just let it all out was like, “Man!” I’m in this dude's house and he’s calling me a king." It’s just crazy.

0 Soulja Boy Apologizes To The Kids; Promises A More Positive Image
Coincidentally, this video would come out right when his new album is dropping. I was just talking to someone about the fact the that since his first album, Soulja Boy has been using a lot of profanity in his music, video blogs and interviews. This would be okay if most of his fans weren't little kids, but since that is not the case, we have this video, courtesy of Interscope Records, apologizing to the parents of these kids so that they will let their children continue to listen to Soulja Boy.
On Sirus Satellite 50 cent said:
"I'm like look, I like Soulja Boy. I like the idea of someone 16-years-old making hit records," 50 said. "I think he's going in the wrong direction though, cause I wouldn't allow him to curse at all. I'd have took Soulja Boy and made this Nickelodeon play. I'd have turned him into Lil Romeo." When Buckshot mentioned Bow Wow, 50 continued, "Look how long Bow Wow had that run."
Listen to the interview below @ around 2:20.
Valiant effort by Interscope, but a little late don't cha think?

0 Quote Of The Day: Learn By Experience; Other People's Experience
"Writers who have delved into human nature, ancient masters of strategy, historians of human stupidity and folly, kings and queens who have learned the hard way how to handle the burden of power - there knowledge is gathering dust, waiting for you to come and stand on their shoulders. Their wit can be your wit, their skill can be your skill, and they will never come around to tell people how unoriginal you really are. You can slog through life, make endless mistakes, wasting time and energy trying to do things from your own experience. Or you can use the armies of the past. As Bismarck once said, "Fools say that they learn by experience. I prefer to profit by others' experience."

0 Jake One Interview With AllHipHop 12/17/08
AllHipHop.com: Looking at the websites and magazines and album liner notes, your presence has definitely increased over the past 12 months. What’s different now compared to back then?
Jake One: You know it probably hasn’t changed that much from a business side. It’s more having this record that I’m the face of has made people more aware of what I’ve been doing. That was part of the reason for doing the record, kind of like a bigger advertisement for what I do. A lot of people don’t read the credits. People don’t even buy the records, so how are they going to see the credits? And then sometimes people will leak a song and give someone else my credit.
AllHipHop.com: I remember you were venting about that Hot Rod track ["Be Easy"] last year that everyone thought was a Dr. Dre beat.
Jake One: [Laughs] Yeah that was one of many where people just drew a name. 50 recently leaked a song of mine called “50 For President” and even though I did it, my name isn’t on it. So that’s just the Internet age, and you kind of have to take that into your own hands and just let people know what you’ve done, or they’re never going to know.

0 Let The Battle Begin: Charles Hamilton Gets @ Soulja Boy
This was posted on Charles Hamilton's Blog Today:
"All jokes aside, this sh1t is getting out of hand. Got me feelin like the rap Paul Mooney. Lol. Shouts to 50. Funny ass n1gga. Had a good chat with him about it yesterday. Soulja don’t listen to 50. Don’t let 50 be the reason you get seriously ethered. I found the Mario mushroom joke to be hilarious, thought you coulda been funnier, but don’t try to like, rap against me. Not wise on your part".
So who do you think will win? (thats a rhetorical question BTW)

0 Eminem Interview With Billboard: Talks New Book, "Relapse" and Dispels "Stan 2 "Rumors
"Me and Dre are back in the lab like the old days, man," Eminem says. "Just him banging away on tracks and me getting that little spark that makes me write to it. I don't have chemistry like that with anyone else as far as producers go -- not even close. Dre will end up producing the majority of the tracks on Relapse.' We are up to our old mischievous ways ... let's just leave it at that."
A handful of songs intended for "Relapse" have leaked online, most recently "Crack a Bottle," leaving Eminem "really heated. It wasn't close to finished, and it even has me doing guide vocals for Dre as a suggestion of how he could lay his verses down. It's like someone catches you peeping in your window before you got the Spider Man costume all zipped up! Nobody is supposed to see that. We are gonna finish it up though and get it out there how it's supposed to be."
Eminem also responded to producer Swizz Beats' recent comment that he'd submitted a track for the project described as a sequel to the hit single "Stan," telling Billboard, "I haven't worked with Swizz on this album.
"There isn't a 'Stan 2,' and there won't be," he says. "Stan drove his car off a bridge and I'm not writing a song as Stan's ghost. That would just be really corny."

0 Quote of The Day: Hard Work
Hard work is the key to success, so work diligently on any project you undertake. If you truly want to be successful, be prepared to give up your leisure time and work past 5 PM and on weekends. Also, have faith in yourself. If you come up with a new idea that you believe in, don't allow other people to discourage you from pursuing it.

0 Five easy steps to plug online music leaks
1. FIND THE SOURCE
Leaks infuriate managers and artists, because they usually occur after an album has been delivered to the label. The culprit is often someone in the production chain who's gone rogue or a talent rep trusting the wrong person with an advance copy. So the label needs to take every step possible to determine where the leak occurred and take action against who is responsible. "You can't unring the bell," says Mike McGuire, an analyst at research firm Gartner Inc. "But if it is an internal leak, then somebody needs to be punished."
2. STOP THE BLEEDING
Once the leak has sprung, it's almost impossible to stop it from spreading. But targeting the top online sources of leaked material can pay dividends by at least stemming the flow long enough for the release to be distributed through legitimate channels. Make sure you've updated the audio fingerprinting of partners who use them to filter out unwanted content. Contact the MP3 bloggers with whom you have relationships. And send takedown notices or cease-and-desist letters when necessary. "The strategy is one of containment," says Eric Garland, CEO of consulting firm BigChampagne. "Chase everybody everywhere with your legal eagles and have the Internet scrubbed clean. It's got to be a coordinated, rapid response."
